A great day at Saguaro National Park (West)..

Yesterday morning we left here and headed out for the laundromat..woohoo. It's gotta be done though right?! We picked a place and let the girl in the phone guide us there.  A very nice laundromat and not many people there when we arrived.  Put our clothes in and went and got gas rather just sit and wait.

We got back in time to put the clothes in the dryer, only our washer was empty! What the heck, we asked the owner/manager and he's like WHAT? Anyway a gentleman who had the two washers on the other side of ours said, "Oh, those were your clothes? I put them in the dryer, I thought she (meaning his wife) said those were ours."  We paid him back his dollar and had a good laugh.

Clothes all done and we were out the door and heading for Saguaro National Park (West) by 1030.  We entered the park at the North Entrance and we are so glad we did.  I think if you go by the South entrance you miss a lot of the cactus. My camera was going crazy!  It's so amazing! This is a park we hadn't heard of and what a gem. We went to the Visitor Center which is very nice and couldn't believe all the people there! Walked around outside and still can't believe the beauty!
Downtown Tucson..

There will be Saguaro overload (I tried not to)..but it was just too amazing. As with some things..the pictures don't do it justice!

Can you imagine all this beauty in your own yard!

We headed out to take a drive that would take us to Signal Hill. We missed it, turned around and found the road. We were looking for a picnic area the ranger told us about that she liked.  Well, once we hit Signal Hill, which we shouldn't have until after the picnic area we realized we hadn't gone far enough on the main road to go to the other end of the road.  Turned into the picnic area at Signal Hill, found us a covered shelter and had our picnic lunch.  The shelters were obviously built by the CCC's back in the 30's. We had tuna sandwiches (yummy) and baked potato chips.  We don't eat many sandwiches anymore, but these were delicious.  Had a glass of wine, and Ken had a beer and we just enjoyed the surroundings. Lot's of people here too.

I love this one..(might have seen it or something similar on Deb's posting)

Once we were finished it was close to 1430 and time to get on the road. We drove to the other picnic area, just because.  Glad we did, because now we know we didn't miss a thing as we both liked Signal Hill better.  Drove out the South side of the park to see the Desert Museum. We thought it was part of the park, as it's advertising for it was on the brown signs. Well, at $24.95 for me and a few dollars less for Ken not worth it for us.  I'm not a big zoo person anyway and this was way too commercial. To each his own and apparently a lot of people are because the place was very busy.

Our lunch spot!

We headed out of the park and towards our little trailer in the parking lot.  The girl on the phone directed us to Casino Del Sol. A drive through let us know we're happy to be where we are, as the RV section was packed with tons of RV's  quite a show! We found our way home and missed it. The parking lot didn't look the same where our trailer was parked. We realized our mistake, u turn made and into the correct lot. Some RV's now are parked in a different area and very few in our area. So few that Ken got the bar b q out and did up some delicious hamburgers for our dinner.  I made some oven fries and we had a feast. He ran the generator for a bit, which he didn't do the night before because he didn't want it to bother anyone. No worries about that last night.

Bar b Q on the tailgate..:)

This morning (Tuesday) we're up and about and getting ready to visit Saguaro National Park East.  It's divided into two sections as Tucson is in the middle. Looks like a beautiful day supposed to be near 80!

The Redhead K Ranch added a new member to their family yesterday morning.
Dahlia was born at 0331 weighing in at 8lbs 4ozs of cuteness.

Have a wonderful day!
