Little Bay De Noc Campground
Due to it’s out-of-the-way location Little Bay De Noc Campground is uncrowded and quiet. We walked along the main campground road all four days of our visit and encountered little traffic. The campground has 37 sites and three loops. Each loop is different. The first loop is close to a small sandy beach, the sites in the second loop are nestled in the forest and very private, the sites in the third loop, where we camped, have easy water access. All of the sites are very large and can be shared. Our friend Sally, who was visiting her brother in Michigan, joined us for our trip east across Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. We shared a site and even though each us still had to pay the regular rate it was worth sharing to be close to each other for campfires and meals. There are also group sites. All of the sites are considered to be accessible. The ground is hard packed so rolling is fairly easy. The tables top are extended. The short, accessible Maywood History Trail travels through the forest and has interpretive signs. The other trails are not accessible. Campground 45.8417, -86.9812
