Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
Due to the terrain with cliffs, hills, and sandy beaches little in the national seashore is accessible. The three campgrounds have accessible sites but the since all of the sites can be reserved in advanced and fill fast, planning is necessary - something we didn’t do.
Most of the places that are accessible are near the southern end of the park which extends almost 40 miles along the lakeshore. We visited three of these sites - Munising Falls, Miner’s Castle Overlook, and Sand Point Marsh Trail.
A short trail accesses the viewing platform at Munising Falls. The trail is paved and less than 1/2 mile roundtrip. Flight of stair lead to other viewpoints. The visitor center was closed but it appeared to be accessible. The parking lot has long RV/bus spaces. Falls 46.42328, -86.62501
Two viewpoints of Miner’s Castle are accessed by a short, paved trail. The wall at the first viewpoint is sold wood and too high to see over from a seated position. The plexiglass opening in the wall don’t allow a good view. The parking lot has long RV/bus spaces. Castle 46.49244, -86.55
Sand Point Marsh Trail makes a 1/2 mile loop through marsh and forest along boardwalks and asphalt paths. RVs spaces are along the side of the road. Trail 46.44882, -86.60633
