South Fourche Campground

  The sign on the road indicates that this is a picnic area so we were pleasantly surprised to find that is also a small campground. There are 6 sites with paved parking pads, tables, fire rings, grills, and lantern posts plus an accessible vault toilet. Steps provide river access. The water is not on so the fee has been reduced.

   The only site that is wide enough to deploy a wheelchair lift is # 5. Most of the tables have extended tops.

   The road in is a little steep and branches hang low near the first sites. Go the wrong way on the road to avoid the branches. The sites are long enough for 30’ RVs. Campground 34.86945, -93.10903
